Siddha Mauritius 2026 is an international Siddha conference on Tamil traditional medicine, held in Port Louis, Mauritius. On behalf of the National Organising Committee – Mauritius, we invite scholars, clinicians, researchers, traditional practitioners, policymakers and students from across the globe. This landmark event introduces Siddha medicine in Mauritius to regions with emerging awareness, while advancing international scholarship, clinical research and evidence-based integration into global healthcare.
La médecine siddha à Maurice : la 2e Conférence internationale sur la médecine siddha se tiendra du 27 au 29 novembre 2026 à la SMA Academy, rue Nicolay, Port-Louis. Trois jours de conférences, de tables rondes et de masterclasses consacrés à la médecine traditionnelle tamoule — diagnostic par le pouls (naadi), pharmacopée végétale et minérale, recherche clinique et santé publique. Siddha medicine came to Mauritius in the hands of ordinary people — in seed packets, in remedies memorised at home, in palm-leaf notes carried across the ocean. It has been practised quietly here for generations.
This conference is an invitation to bring that practice into the open: to compare methods, to hold our diagnoses to scrutiny, and to train the next generation properly. You will find room here for the old texts and for hard questions about evidence, safety and regulation.

What is Siddha medicine
One of the oldest traditional medical systems in human history

Originating millennia ago in South India, Siddha views the human body as a replica of the universe, governed by the five elements (panchabootham) and three humours (mukkutram) — vali, azhal and aiyam. Rather than targeting symptoms alone, it works towards rejuvenation, preventive longevity (kayakalpa) and the root cause of ailments through herbs, minerals and lifestyle correction.

Submit your abstract
The Scientific Committee invites original research papers, systematic reviews, case studies and practice-based essays aligned with the four conference themes. Abstracts of 250–350 words may be written in English or Tamil, and every submission receives a reply by email.

Author notice
Researchers, clinicians, traditional practitioners, academicians, scientists, public health experts, policymakers and postgraduate students are welcome to submit abstracts. All accepted papers will be published in the official conference proceedings with ISBN/DOI assignment, and selected high-quality papers will be forwarded for peer-reviewed journal publication.
